It would be a good idea to implant a tiny microchip under a pet's skin (the chip lasts the entire life of your pet). The chip is then registered with an unique identification number, and information about the animal implanted with the chip is permanently recorded. This microchip can be read by special scanner and the pet will be returned to it's owners in case it gets lost.
